Witness

All secrets of cruel but puny despots,
who erased rare proofs from the face of history,
who annihilated witnesses
of colossal murders and intrigues
are perhaps
known to the Sagarmatha,
the highest peak.
Given its majestic height,
it must have seen
all behind-the-screen drama
from the roof of the world.
If only
we could decipher
the language of its silent gaze!
